Good grief, I haven't posted here in a long time. I've been very occupied by tumblr, which I apologize for <.<

I will admit that I on a large part have been tempted to just clean up the archives, because there are a lot of posts that I am frankly quite embarassed about (but then I was in my teens when I started this blog way back in the day.)

It's something to think about. In the meantime, here's at least a few comments on any movies I've seen recently:

Frozen: Sucks balls and I really hope it gets its ass kicked at the Oscars (though I sadly doubt it, because it's Disney)

Lego Movie: Was hilarious and cute, and has made me want to drag out all my old legos and rebuild the sets I've got.

Other than that, I've been very much into Rise of the Guardians for the past year, and I doubt it's a fandom I'm gonna let go of anytime soon. I know I should definitely do some art posts, haven't done any of that in a while.

commission signal boost!

Alright, to anyone who's watching me, here's the deal:

My friend Miss Doodle needs some help. She's going to be starting at an art school, but she's learned that she's possibly going to owe over a hundred thousand dollars. I have no idea how that's possible, but it's nonetheless the case.

Here is her commission page Go ask her for one, because she is a brilliant artist and she needs all the help she can get. And if you can't buy one, then signal boost the heck out of this wherever you can. She's an awesome person, so please help her out in some way.
So yeah, I'm pretty much mostly on tumblr these days. I decided to put up a tumblr just for my writing which you can find here if you get curious. I also mostly post my art on my tumblr account, so yeah.

Rest in peace, Anne McCaffrey

I was always so afraid this day would come. I met Anne McCaffrey years ago, when EuroCon came to Denmark. She had a panel, and a Q&A group, and she was just... an *amazing* person to meet. I remember drawing her fanart and giving it to her, during a book signing she held at the con as well, and I will never forget that expression of surprise and delight that she had. She was such a wonderful sweet and wise woman, and she had everyone crying when she did a reading of The ship who sang.

I think one of the best parts, was that I got a picture taken with her. And she gave the most wonderful advice that an aspiring writer could want, which is pretty much quoted here. "First : keep reading. Writers are readers. Writers are also people who can’t not write. Second, follow Heinlein’s rules for getting published: 1. Write it. 2. Finish it. 3. Send it out. 4. Keep sending it out until someone sends you a check. There are variations on that, but that’s basically what works."

We'll miss you, Anne McCaffrey. Have a safe flight on your Golden Queen.

Spread the word, even you're not a US citizen, it is important for everyone!! It easy to do and it can change everything. More info by clicking on the banner.

Website Blocking

The government can order service providers to block websites for infringing links posted by any users.

Risk of Jail for Ordinary Users

It becomes a felony with a potential 5 year sentence to stream a copyrighted work that would cost more than $2,500 to license, even if you are a totally noncommercial user, e.g. singing a pop song on Facebook.

Chaos for the Internet

Thousands of sites that are legal under the DMCA would face new legal threats. People trying to keep the internet more secure wouldn't be able to rely on the integrity of the DNS system.

Get on the phone and call your representative. Express your disapproval. Tell him or her exactly how you feel, and that you don't support this. Tell your friends to call their representatives, their Congressperson, and complain. Mention that you are a registered voter that takes your civic responsibility seriously and that you will use that vote to express your feelings about this.

“We support the bill’s stated goals — providing additional enforcement tools to combat foreign ‘rogue’ websites that are dedicated to copyright infringement or counterfeiting,” the Internet companies wrote in Tuesday’s letter. “Unfortunately, the bills as drafted would expose law-abiding U.S. Internet and technology companies to new uncertain liabilities, private rights of action and technology mandates that would require monitoring of websites.”  The chamber-led coalition in support of the bill includes Walmart, Eli Lilly & Co. and Netflix.

Google and other opponents of the legislation argue that restricting the Internet in the U.S. sets a bad international precedent and that the language defines infringing too broadly.
